Milton Keynes Marathon (26.69 miles)

Ran this with a friend today in really really bad conditions. It was so wet and windy before the start, and eveybody taking shelter where they could. I seen a friend before the start who had come from London that morning and was actually going back home until I talked him out of it, not sure how he now feels about that, lol Anyway we got started and upto about 12 miles the guy I was running with was looking at a sub 4 and is was running to support him. Unfortunatley he took a bad injury to his hip around this time which was moving into his lower back. The pain proving so much that at around 14 miles, soaked through and very cold he said he thinks he could not go on. But I pushed him and it was then a process of stop and starts with him in so much pain he was finding it hard to catch his breath and was wanting to puke. But after a hugely tough last 12 miles he was a total hero and his determination came through and he did it, finishing his first marathon in around 5.12, amazing as I know how much he suffered from the injury. Luckily the rain lifted once just as we finished for about 20 mins giving us time to get to the car, change and get the feeling back into our hands, well done Ed
